I am the first to admit that getting into the gym is difficult in the summer. I’m a jogger anyway and this is possibly the only 60 days I can get out and jog without a chance of a downpour. Still don’t hold my breath on that, but it’s the best bet I have.
So if the sun is out then it’s a sure bet the gym is quiet. But don’t let that mean you aren’t working out at all. Just change up what you are doing.
* Get hiking. Easier here in Washington than most places as we are full of hiking and biking trails. Grab the family or go spend some time on your own (please be cautious if on own)
* Hit the park. Laps around the toys, try some pull ups (or jump up and do some flexed arm hangs), do push ups against park toys or right in the grass. Jumping jacks, jump over obstacles, the skies the limit at a park that was created to work kids out.
* JOG or walk outside. I love to jog outside as my cardio. During the summer I also like to move to the high school since it’s typically empty. Do some laps and then do some push ups and/or crunches. Mix it up and get out.
Most of all, I want to get outside and have no guilt. There are still days it gets too warm and I look to get into the air conditioned gym, but for the most part I will do all in my power to get outside as much as I can while the suns around. So don’t feel guilty, just change it up and do it!

I think that we can still get into the gym even though it is in the summer. It just depends on our intention when doing something. But, changing up what we are doing will also be good option. The most important thing is that we must stay healthy in all weather and season.
Yes, many would probably love to be in the gym in the summer even more than other seasons. Here in Seattle we get so little sunshine that it’s near impossible to drag myself indoors for a workout if it’s shining. lol
