QOTW – Rainy Day Workouts
Do you change your workouts because of the weather?
Living here in the Seattle area, I’ve grown up working out in the rain. We’d never have any outdoor sports if we didn’t. lol But as I’ve gotten older I realized how I would change my running regimen a lot because of the rain. Realizing this is the battle. My family has plenty of hats for me to wear and a jacket if I need it.
I also have DVD’s if it’s raining really hard and not safe. I know some have a lot of snow to deal with and that changes things dramatically.
QOTW – Time For You
What do you do for you time? Do you even know what that is? It’s time that you take and think and do nothing for anyone else but you. Not a thing, no thought of responsibility for others.
Even if it’s just a few minutes taken, it is needed to stay healthy. Visit Moms Indulgence for some great tips on pampering yourself and incredible deals on products.
QOTW – Lunch
Do you have a large lunch or do you eat a tiny, tiny meal and wait to have a large meal at dinner?
Have you considered that you burn more calories in the afternoon until bedtime than you do from dinner till bedtime?
Try switching your meal size and see how that helps with your calorie counts. You may find your cravings at snack time and dessert time are far less.
QOTW – Weight Routine
How do you break up your weights routine? Are you dedicated to one major body part or do you hit upper body one day and lower body on another?
There are no correct answers to this question. The focus is on pushing yourself each and every set and not hitting the same major muscle group two days in a row. Otherwise there are so many different ways to write a program depending on your goals and any health issues you may have.
QOTW – Lifting Weights
Do you lift weights?
Weights are important for so many reasons. But some quick one’s that usually help woman make that mental transition are the fact that muscle is a living tissue and will burn calories, so the more you have the more calories you can burn. If you add weight bearing exercises you can help ward off osteoporosis. And who doesn’t want to firm up those abs, arms, shoulders, thighs?
QOTW – Planning Food
Do you plan your food out for the week?
Not planning ahead is a sure fire way to sabotage any healthy eating. From personal experience, I know that my not planning leads me to take out. Even if that take out is a healthy option like subway it’s just not something I can start. It leads me to more take out meals because it’s so easy and then I start making a little poorer choices each time.
Plan ahead and get your meals and snacks prepared for the week.
QOTW – Slow Workout Days
Do you have an “I don’t wanna workout” workout?
You know those days that you know you need to go and you’re going to, but you just aren’t into it and you want to get in and get out.
Do you have a plan for those days or do you wonder around the gym and not really get anything done?
Those are the days I will typically try to jog. Depending on if it’s at the gym or outside I can set little goals and just get it done. Then I do some quick crunches and am happy I did more than I wanted.
QOTW – Personal Blog
I’m resurrecting the question of the week again finally.
Todays question is do you have a personal blog?
I have two, one is my more generic blog and then I have one just for my weight loss journey. I especially love the weight loss one because I can go back through the years and see how far I have come.
If you do have a personal blog, please do leave me a link so I can check it out!
QOTW – being sick and eating
Does being sick affect your eating in a positive or negative way?
For the most part it I will lose my appetite. It’s usually allergies and we don’t even need to go into the effects of post
nasal drip on the stomache. But, that said, I notice when I do eat I usually crave more unhealthy stuff. I wonder if that is a comfort type thing?
It’s definitely something I have to think about when I am working on losing weight. It’s very easy to grab the grilled cheese sandwich (hubby will make with lots of butter) and high sodium chicken noodle soup. You just have to find something else to comfort you instead. Hugs with a kid or pet work wonders.Â
QOTW – Healthy Choices
What healthy choices have you made today?
Instead of any fast food or convenience food I bought some dark rye bread and some roast beef and came home to make a sandwich. No mayo, no cheese and lots of veggies. I feel much better about this decision that what I wanted to get.
